The project "Foreign Internships - Way to a Career" started on 1st October 2018 and lasted 12 months. 30 students from our school (Schools and Educational Institutions in Skała) who study in the fields of IT technician and logistics technician attended it.
The students, under the care and supervision of 2 tutors, took part in the monthly internships in Italian companies. The internships took place in the Bologna area from 17th March 2019 to 13th April 2019. The internship organization - YouNet from Bologna - took care of the internships. The YouNet organization dealt with all logistic aspects of our stay, such as: accommodation, local transport, payment of the part of the financial resources to students, organization of dinners, organization of internships, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation of the project, as well as, implementation of the cultural program. The internships were adapted to the needs of the participants. The students received ECVET documents, the diploma and the Europass-Mobility certificate. Our school took care of the participants' preparation for the mobility. The students participated in language, pedagogical and cultural activities before the departure. In addition, we supplied them with workwear, necessary aids for the preparation and then for the internships as such; we also guaranteed transport and an adequate insurance. The partner got acquainted with the participants via FB and Skype. The YouNet familiarized the participants with the information regarding their internship stay. Skała is a small town in the province of Małopolska, where it is difficult to acquire the qualifications and experience at the level required by the modern labor market. As a result, it has a negative impact on the possibility of finding employment after the graduation. Our project was a reaction to these problems. Our main goal was to help our students find themselves on the labor market. We wanted to adjust their professional qualifications to the requirements of entrepreneurs. In addition, the project was an opportunity to improve students' language skills and to acquire personal, social and organizational competences necessary for the functioning in the modern world. The contact with another culture also improved the intercultural awareness of the participants, and the possibility to have at the disposal their own budget supported the development of their independence and entrepreneurship. The project had also a positive impact on our school which strengthened its international contacts and its position as a European school within the local community. The participation in the project was also an opportunity for the school staff to gain new professional experience,as well as, improve their organizational and language skills. The meeting summarizing the project Erasmus + ''Internship abroad - the way to career'' was taken place in our school on 11.06.2019. Our 15 logistics and IT students were in Bologna in Italy to train their skills in different Italian firms. Except that our students had excursions to Venice, Florence and Milan. It is worth adding that our school is a leader among all technical schools in Cracow country in term of acquisition money for training. There were many interesting representatives of our authorities. During the meeting our principal Karol Papisz shared impressions from experience of stay of our students. After the meeting we tried delicious Italian cuisine.
