YouNet APS is non-profit organisation and pursues the following civic and solidarity purposes and social utility:
- To promote and support local and international volunteering as an instrument of social intervention and construction of an inclusive and tolerant society promoting the values of peace and justice, that lays its foundations on intercultural dialogue and intergenerational solidarity;
- To promote the training, networking and collaboration of third sector operators and associations, in particular, those active in the field of volunteering and youth, while fostering interaction and encounter with society and institutions;
- To support and encourage active citizenship and social and democratic engagement, in particular of young people and disadvantaged people at risk of marginalisation; to involve and stimulate citizens and associations in the elaboration, construction and realization of the future and democracy at local, national, European and international level;
- To contribute to the development and renewal of the third sector and the entire non-profit world as a socio-cultural and economic engine of a fairer and more supportive society, which can guarantee the well-being of the community without discrimination of any kind, while promoting the culture of legality;
- To promote the right to information and participation of young people, mainly using informal and non-formal learning methodologies;
- To support the protection and promotion of civil rights and social and collective interests, with particular reference to the rights of children and young people;
- To give visibility, facilitate and promote access to a European and intercultural dimension, fighting racism and xenophobia and supporting respect and enhancement of cultural diversity and mutual understanding at local, European and international level, in a context of solidarity that encourages cultural exchange and constructive dialogue between northern and southern countries of the world;
- To encourage the mobilization and acquisition of awareness, knowledge and skills about global challenges (immigration, climate change, sustainable development, millennium goals, fight against hunger and poverty, gender-related issues, peace and conflicts, ...);
- To promote sustainable development through the accompaniment and strengthening of the social fabric (associations, income-generating activities, etc.), with particular attention to participated and participatory local development projects that take into account local populations in the north and south of the world.
