YouNet APS (Association of Social Promotion) is a third sector entity, founded in May 2010, which opens and puts itself at the service of the entire world of the third sector, of the non-profit and, more generally, of the entire social macro-system. YouNet collaborates with individuals, informal groups, associations, local authorities, foundations and any public or private entity that aims to create a fairer and more supportive society. This is reflected in the design, financing, organization, and implementation of small, large or very large projects with local or international funding.
YouNet promotes, supports and takes care of the organization at local or international level of: volunteering projects and non-formal education in the short, medium and long term; intercultural exchanges and youth activities (e.g. tandem and language activities; training courses with students about Europe; awareness-raising activities in schools...); socio-educational, cultural, environmental, sports and entertainment activities (e.g. thematic workshops, cultural and film festivals; intercultural sport events, entertainment activities with/for the elderly...).
YouNet leads education training and information activities on the European dimension, anti-racism, active citizenship, and sustainable lifestyles in collaboration with professional and high schools. Over the years, the action has been also expanded to peripheral areas and neighboring municipalities that are part of the Bologna metropolitan area. This has given more input to our association in the continuous search to find methods and approaches increasingly appropriate to different target groups, boosting the impact on the metropolitan territory. Through formal agreements with the Europe Direct of the Municipality of Bologna, with the Emilia Romagna Region and with the InformaGiovani of the Municipality of San Lazzaro, YouNet offers support to young people who want to live an experience abroad thanks to the YouMob office desk, which is open every week.
YouNet has wide experience in volunteering, non-formal education, and mobility learning. YouNet has been accredited and active in volunteering since 2011 and has involved more than 250 people in sending and hosting both within projects of the European Voluntary Service, the European Solidarity Corps and the Grundtvig Senior Volunteering. YouNet also coordinated 2 centralized volunteer projects involving partners from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe and we have assisted the departure of 46 young people from all over the world to European and non-European destinations. YouNet also designed and coordinated 4 Large scale EVS event projects funded by EACEA involving over 150 volunteers. Every year, YouNet is also a partner of about 30 volunteer projects in a start-up phase, so it acts as a support to volunteers before, during and after mobility. Through this long experience and collaboration with organizations from all over the world, YouNet has had the opportunity to increase its experience and further improve the standards of support for volunteers in receiving and sending so as to give them the means to take full advantage of this experience. YouNet represents Emilia-Romagna in the Italian European Volunteer Network (RIVE) through which it compares and shares quality information, resources and standards with other voluntary organizations, exchanges good practices and further develops its experience and skills in the field of European volunteering.
YouNet is strongly rooted in the regional territory and in particular in Bologna and the province where it regularly organizes projects, activities and interventions with municipalities (e.g. Bologna, Anzola, Budrio, Medicina, San Lazzaro...), associations and the third sector entities (e.g. Net in Action, IFOM, ANCeSCAO...), institutions (Europe Direct, Zonarelli Intercultural Center, Green Years Centers ...).
