L’esperienza di Ilaria in Portogallo, ottobre 2025! "A dream can come true, even tough you have to wait for it, be patient and everything that is made for you it will come to you sooner or later." "I'm Ilaria, I'm 29 years old and I'm from Naples, Italy. One of the best choise that I have ever done in my life is coming here in Lisbon. I was dreaming of it since 1 year and this city seems to fit me perfectly: the sea vibes, the colorful buildings, the joyful and cheerful people.. everything seems matching with my energies. I had the chance of coming here and working in a high school for giving my support to teenagers with special needs and difficult backgrounds and even if I should be the one who gives help, they're are actually helping me to find out more about myself and about how the cultural differences can be a point of reflection and awareness. I know that one month is not enough for making up a complete opinion about a long term project but I can feel the gratitude to be here every day, even only for waking up every morning and looking at the sunrise on the ocean, these moments are priceless and make me feel alive."  I have been in Lisbon for a month and a half, and I didn't expect to have the time to explore so much! It's a huge city, and I discover a little bit of it every day. Thanks to the beautiful weather, I also visited Sintra and Cascais, tried delicious pastel de nata, and enjoyed walks in nature. I started working two weeks after my arrival and got to know my colleagues and the residents at the center where I work. There are about 30 people, all very different from each other - some cheerful, some serious, some talkative. Many of them have a migration background. At first, with some, I could only exchange smiles because I didn't understand Portuguese. Over time, I became attached to them and can now have small conversations in Portuguese! This experience has taught me a lot about patience, empathy, and intercultural communication. Living and working in a new country challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, and appreciate different ways of life. I feel more confident, open-minded, and motivated to continue learning from new experiences like this.  Portugal, outubro 2025 "Hi, my name is Jessica, I’m from Italy and I’m currently volunteering in Portugal. This month has been very calm and meaningful for me. I’ve started to feel more connected with my life here, more at peace with myself and with the rhythm of the city. One of the places that became special to me is the beach in Carcavelos, “Praia dos Gémeos”. There’s a small cliff there where you can sit and watch the ocean. The sunsets are beautiful, and it has become a place where I go to breathe, reflect, and feel grounded. Thanks to my service at the Marinha Museum in Belém, I had the chance to visit the submarine “Barracuda” and the Fragata D. Fernando || e Gloria during a guided tour. It was a moment that truly impressed me. Seeing these places up close, learning their history, and being surrounded by the sea atmosphere reminded me of why I love being part of this experience. I am really happy to be here. To learn, to explore, and to grow each day. I’m grateful to be part of this project, and I’m looking forward to discovering more in the next months."  Ciao a tutti! Sono Viola, ho 22 anni e sto facendo la mia esperienza di volontariato in Portogallo. Questo primo mese di ottobre qui è stato spettacolare! Ho scoperto molti posti, e tutto è super nuovo, essendo che è la prima volta che visito questo bellissimo paese! Mi sto innamorando di tutto qui, anche se le mie due cose preferite sono: i tramonti dai miradouros e i pastel de nata con un po' di cannella sopra. Qua sto facendo volontariato in una scuola materna a Lisbona, e i bambini sono fantastici, mi hanno accolto da subito a braccia aperte e, anche se la mia avventura è appena iniziata, so già che mi mancheranno quando dovrò tornare alla "vita normale". Il mio momento preferito di questo mese è quando abbiamo visitato, con tutta la classe, l'"ospedale delle bambole"; dove i bambini hanno avuto l'opportunità di portare uno dei loro giocattoli e accompagnarlo in una finta procedura medica, dall'arrivo in "ospedale" fino a un controllo di salute finale. E' stato particolarmente bello perché hanno sorriso e si sono divertiti e sono sicura che quando arriverà il momento in cui staranno male non saranno così spaventati dell'ospedale e lo affronteranno con un bel sorriso in volto, nella stessa maniera in cui mi accolgono ogni mattina. Non vedo l'ora di sapere cosa mi aspetta a novembre, anche se ottobre sarà difficile da battere. Beijos, Viola
 L’esperienza di Francesca in Portogallo in Ottobre! Sono a Lisbona da un mese e non pensavo che avrei avuto il tempo di visitare così tanto! È una città immensa e ne vedo un pezzetto ogni giorno. Grazie al bel tempo ho visitato anche Sintra e Cascais, ho mangiato dei pastel de nata buonissimi e ho fatto passeggiate nella natura. Ho iniziato a lavorare dopo due settimane dal mio arrivo e ho conosciuto i/le residenti del centro per cui lavoro. Sono circa 30 persone molto diverse tra loro. Sorridenti, burbere, yapper. In comune hanno un background migratorio. Con alcuni ho potuto scambiare solo dei sorrisi perché non capivo assolutamente la loro lingua (il portoghese). Con il tempo mi sono affezionata e so fare piccole conversazioni in portoghese!
