“Survival training for trainers” Training Course

Klimontów, Poland

Participants age and profile: over 20. This is a training course for adult trainers and youth workers.

Participants’ characteristics: experience in working with youth, preferably as a trainer, teacher, etc.; English language skills on at least communicative level

Description: It is a training course for trainers, teachers and youth workers who are open to new methods of working with youth, especially youngsters with fewer opportunities and tough background. The methods covered in the training are survival methods on the basic level. The participants will experience theoretical knowledge as well as practice. WARNING A special characteristic of this training is that it deals with the survival methods. We plan to expose the participants to real experience, not just theory. Due to this, please prepare yourself to some physical exhaustion, especially during the night survival workshop.

PLACE OF VENUE The training will take place in Klimontów near the city of Sedziszow in Swietokrzyskie region, Poland. It is a small village on the border of three regions. It is a peaceful place, well connected with Kraków (airport), Kielce and Katowice (airport), the capitals of the three regions. Klimontów is placed 60 km from Kielce, 60 km from Kraków and 240 km from Warszawa (airports: Warsaw Chopin and Warsaw Modlin).

IMPORTANT MESSAGE there is another Klimontow in the same region, placed near Sandomierz. Also there are a couple of other Klimontow towns, villages in Poland. To specify the village when you plan your trip: it’s Klimontow, near Sedziszow, in Swietokrzyskie region. Where we stay Foundation CampoSfera is now renting a building after an old school in the village of Klimontów. The building is now being renovated, and will be prepared before your arrival. It is a special place, where we put a lot of stress on ecological solutions. You will have a chance to see natural clay plastering inside the building. The school and the area around is constantly changing and adapted to the needs of the centre for international and local project that is being established  here. For this reason, we ask for your understanding with regard to the conditions of your stay. The bedrooms are dormitories with bunk beds. One room for women and one for men. The showers and toilets are shared. What should I bring? – Comfortable clothes suitable for the weather conditions (we will spend a lot of time outside). In August the temperature in Poland varies from 20-32 Celsius degrees, with possible storms and rain. –     Good shoes, preferably trekking shoes, especially for the night workshop –     Sleeping bags and your own towels. –     Stuff for the Intercultural Evening*; –     fridge magnet from your country/city (we collect them J) –     A lot of positive attitude and energy! Klimontow is a small village with one small shop. Please don’t expect too much opportunity for shopping J * The Intercultural Evening will be held outside (if weather allows). Due to this, please try to present your culture in a way to exclude projector usage (for example national dance). We can provide music, tables, dishes and space. You will be provided with 3 meals a day and coffee breaks.

Financial conditions: – Food, accommodation and activities are 100% covered by the project – Travel costs are 100% covered by the project up to a maximum of  € 275 – “Quota associativa YouNet”: €50.

These membership fees should be paid only by confirmed participants and give them the status of YouNet’s member and access to all our benefits. As a result of the participation in this project, will be issued a European certification (“Youthpass”) certifying the skills gained and valid for the European CV.
