SPOSA’s goal is to increase the daily life quality of the children with autism. The duration of service of the volunteers will be 12 months.

The main activities in SPOSA are teaching and developing daily life skills like, cleaning, cooking, shopping, handcrafting and activities outside of SPOSA as well. Furthermore, the organization also organizes special events, like weekend trips, summer camps, different workshops, etc. Volunteers will take a part in all these activities and will have a chance to realize their own ideas. Furthermore, volunteers will sometimes go with children to the school and help them to be involved in learning process.

Profile of Volunteers

The most important thing for a volunteer at SPOSA is an interest in the work with disabled people (even better with autistic people). We do not expect experience in this field work. Some characteristics are very important for a future volunteer. They should  be motivated, creative, patient, flexible and resistant to a certain amount of physical stress. The motivation to learn Slovak language is also important, because it is needed for the daily work with the children, who often do not speak any other languages.

Accommodation

Volunteers will live in a flat in Bratislava, which is big enough for four people we have in this project. It is ten minutes by bus from the city centre, where our organization is located. The flat has two separate and one room for two people.

Of course their mentor will take individual care of volunteer and will try the best to solute all possible conflicts, at work and in social life. With a steady communication among the organization, the mentor and the volunteer we will try to make this possible.

Travel costs

Each country has amount of Money that can be used for travel costs (see the table below). If travel costs exceed the given grant, the Volunteer or SO (depends of the agreement between Volunteer and SO) has to pay the difference.

The Original invoice and Boarding passes to Bratislava will be collected during the EVS, and the boarding passes for the way back should be scanned and sent to Bratislava via regular mail. Only upon receiving the whole package of the necessary documents (original ivoice and boarding passes for both ways) the travel reimbursement would be transferred to the account you have provided. It is preferable to make a transfer to ONE bank account per country. Therfore, provide us with bank account details of your organization or one of the Volunteers from the country.
